Welcome to the Year 5 NoticeboardWeek beginning 21st September
Another busy week in Year 5. This week we have delved deeper into the events of World War 2, focusing on the Blitz and the difference between an evacuee and a refugee. As it is the start of Fairtrade Fortnight the children have looked at foods that can be bought through this scheme and why it is important.
This week we are also focusing on Poetry, in preparation for National Poetry Day on Thursday - the children are welcome to dress up as their favourite character from a book, or as something or someone that celebrates the wonder of reading.
The children are settling in really well and have now have access to OneNote and all their learning platforms. If you are unsure, then please get in contact so that we can get you connected.

Our expectation are for the children to read daily at home. We check their reading records each Friday. Please help us monitor this by keeping this record up to date.
It is essential that pupils develop quick recall of their times tables. We have regular TT Rockstars sessions in school. Pupils can practice their tables in a variety of ways including logging in to Sumdog from home
Sumdog activities will also be set on a regular basis. Each time these are set, the children have 1 week to complete these.
