SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents/Carers, Governors and children
Welcome to our first newsletter of the academic year! September has flown by, and what a busy and exciting start it’s been. We are thrilled to see how well the children have settled into their new classes, full of enthusiasm and ready to learn.
From the very first week, our school has been buzzing with activity. There’s so much to look forward to this term, and we’ve already made some wonderful memories.
One of the highlights was Year 6’s visit to the Millennium Centre in Cardiff, where they attended a spectacular concert by the Welsh National Opera and Orchestra. It was a truly inspiring experience that brought music and culture to life in a way the children will never forget.
We were also honoured to end the month with a special visit from Mrs Helen Morgan Rees, Director of Education, who joined us to celebrate our recent achievement — receiving the Siarter Iaith Aur (Gold Award). This is a fantastic recognition of our commitment to promoting the Welsh language and culture throughout our school.
We’re also delighted to welcome our new School Improvement Advisor, Mr Russell Dwyer, who recently visited Sketty Primary. Mr Dwyer shared how he was immediately struck by the calm and purposeful atmosphere across the school, describing it as a wonderful environment for learning. We’re proud that our school ethos shines through to visitors and reflects the hard work of our staff and pupils. We look forward to working closely with Mr Dwyer over the next academic year.
We’re incredibly proud of our pupils and staff for all their hard work and dedication. The year ahead promises even more exciting opportunities, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
Diolch yn fawr,
Mrs Bev Phillips
