We are a diverse community at Sketty Primary School, and we believe that language connects us with people, places and communities. Our aim is to equip learners with a set of language skills that are relevant in a modern day society. As global citizens, this will include English, Welsh and other international languages. By 2050, the Welsh Government aim to have 1 million Welsh speakers across Wales, and we want our learners to contribute to this.

Reading is at the heart of all that we do. In all its forms it can inspire and motivate us, while also helping us to learn more about language and communication. By the time our learners leave our care, they will have read a diverse range of literature and have a lifelong love of reading instilled in them.
