  • Sketty Jubilee Street Party - Eversley Road

Wed 25 May 2022 Carly Jackson

Exciting message from the Sketty Club:

I wanted to let you know about a Jubilee Street Party that we have been organising together with the local Sketty Counsellors and local businesses.

We are planning a traditional street party on Sunday June 5th from 3pm - 6pm and it would be great if you could support this by making your staff and pupils aware. The Lord Mayor of Swansea will open the event at 3pm.

I have arranged with Swansea Council to close Eversley Road from 3pm - 6pm from Frogmore Avenue to Gower Road to allow us to have tables and chairs in the road - we will have a bbq and hopefully ice cream/slush machine, face painting, party games, soft drinks. I have secured an open licence for the Sketty Club for the event and so we will be open to the public for soft drinks, snacks and drinks for the adults.

I am asking local children to 'paint' the kerb with red white and blue any time from Thursday 2nd June - I have provided chalks for this and left them with the girls at Mankind hairdressers on Eversley Road. I have bunting which we will put up for the event.

Apologies for the short notice but I wanted to make sure we have all the necessary permissions from the Council before shouting about it!

I very much hope to see you, your staff and pupils enjoying our street party and making memories that will last another 25/50 years!

    Best regards

From this day on, physically punishing children will be illegal in Wales. We want to help protect children and their rights, to give them the best start in life.

  • JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS!

Mon 16 May 2022 Bev Phillips

    Dear Parents/ Carers,

On Thursday 26th May, we shall celebrate our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in school.

Children and staff are welcome to dress up as kings and queens, wear tiaras and crowns, or come to school dressed in red white and blue. It is up to you entirely if you want to join in.

On that day, we shall learn about the role of a King and Queen and discuss the life of Her Majesty and all the wonderful and extraordinary events that have taken place during the last 70 years of her reign. I hope that, if the weather is fine, we will sit on the field as a school and toast Her Majesty by raising an ice cream or lollipop together!!!!

Please remember there is no school on Friday 27th May, staff have Dyslexia and Makaton training.

Many thanks for your continued support.

    Happy Jubilee!!

  • Attendance

    Mon 09 May 2022

    Dear Parents/Carers,

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION

As school continues to return to normal with less and less Covid restrictions, we are now reviewing our attendance policy. Over the next few weeks we shall be auditing all children’s attendance starting with those whose attendance is below 80%. We have been diligent throughout the pandemic in recording the reasons for everyone’s absences and know when the children have been unwell, isolating with Covid related issues and holidays. Mrs Dodd, our attendance officer may call over the next few weeks to discuss your child’s attendance if deemed necessary.

Thank you for your co-operation with this matter.
