• World Down Syndrome Day

  On Tuesday the 21st March, we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day, by wearing odd socks to school.  A huge thank you to all the parents who dressed their children in odd socks. 

  In all the classes the children have been learning about what Down Syndrome is and about being Inclusive. Here are some photos from around the school. 

  Nursery have been making their own painted odd socks, whereas Year 6 have been creating posters to raise awareness, and are to be placed around the school.

  You will be aware of the terrible explosion that took place in Morriston, which has left a family with nothing.
  
  We have had a plea from their Primary school for help.
  
  If anyone has any clothes for a 14-year-old boy or a 10-year-old girl, donations to our school will be gratefully received and we will pass them on.

  There is planned strike action by NEU next Wednesday and Thursday (15th and 16th March). If the strike goes ahead, we shall be closed to children and open for non-striking staff.

• Reminder Camhs Parent Workshop

  REMINDER
  
  School In-reach Parent Workshop Monday 13th March at 5.30pm in Y3 Miss Jones' class.
  
  The next parent workshop will outline worries and is entitled 'When to worry about your worrier'.
  
  This parent workshop will offer a brief overview of the psychology of anxiety and worries, an understanding of the anxiety cycle and provides strategies for managing worries.

• REMINDER - NO SCHOOL

  REMINDER
  Just a quick reminder that there is planned strike action by teachers who belong to the NEU on Thursday 2nd March. As a result, our school is closed to pupils, apart from both Year 4 classes whose trip to Cardiff will go ahead.
  
  Further industrial action is planned on Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March. We will write to you again a week before these dates with a further update.
  
  The teaching staff and I want to see an end to this period of dispute and a return to normal school life as soon as possible.
