    Fri 29 Nov 2024
Dear Parents/Carers, Welcome to our November edition of our school newsletter. The children have been working very hard getting their topic work finished before the Christmas Festivities begin. We hope you enjoy reading the write ups from each class and can see how busy the children are across the school. There certainly isn’t a dull day in Sketty Primary!! Another big thank you to our PTA who continue to raise funds for our school. Look out for Carols on the Yard on Friday 13th December, come and join in singing a few firm favourite Christmas carols with a mince pie or two. Kind Regards Mrs Bev Phillips Headteacher

School Council representatives share their views for Swansea Council 2025 Play Sufficiency Assessment

On Tuesday 26th November representatives of School Council were invited to take part in Swansea Council’s Play Sufficiency Assessment.

Pupils had an interactive engagement session with Leanna Cresi from Swansea Council and shared their views on how they feel about play.

In recognition of the importance of play in every child’s healthy development, the Welsh Government placed a statutory duty on every local authority to assess whether there are sufficient opportunities to play.

This Play Sufficiency Assessment (PSA) 2024 is due to be submitted in 2025.

The data will be analysed and ready for submission in June 2025. The responses given will help shape play in Swansea for the next 3 years!

    Da iawn bawb!

    Parent session - Inclusability

If you are attending the parent session after school today, (and need childcare) can you please collect your children from school as normal, then bring them round to the computer room, where we will meet you and take them to another room.
Those parents who have children in clubs, we will aim to finish at 4.15pm, so this doesn't interrupt with picking your child up.

Huge thank you to Anthony from Inclusability, who came into school on Friday to do an assembly with the children.

The children listened well and some were brave enough to share about their own disabilities, and how they were different, which was lovely to hear them being so confident in front of all their friends.

Don't forget the parent session is after school today, in the Computer Room (next to Y5MW).
See you at 3.30pm!! We will finish by 4.15pm so if you do have children in after school clubs, you can collect them.

If you do need childcare, please email me on millerj67@hwbcymru.net

Just one more weekend to get those drawers and wardrobes sorted. Friday 22nd November is our collection day for your used clothes items. Please send in your bags from Monday 18th November. As usual, the large metal container by the school's main gate will be open at the beginning and the end of the school day for your bags. If you require any more bags either ask your child's class teacher or collect spares from our main reception. Alternatively you can use any bag, preferably a recyclable one.

Please remember we do not accept school uniform. Thank you for your support.
